June 15-21, 2008

Front Range Camping will return to Quaker Ridge Camp in 2008. Last year was an excellent adventure at Quaker Ridge. Campers enjoyed new activities like horseback riding, swimming, air rifles. Older campers also experienced the thrill of rock climbing, rappelling, white water rafting and much more.

Quaker Ridge Camp provides the perfect spot to experience camping. It is located north of Woodland Park, CO just off of Highway 67. Their camp sits at an elevation of 8600' and they have over 400 acres surrounded by the Pike National Forest. They have great trails to hike and incredible views of the north face of Pikes Peak.

Lodging:

Quaker Ridge provides exceptional lodging. The New Adventures and Elementary campers will share two lodges (boys and girls). They have bunk beds with 6-8 campers per room. The Middle School girls also sleep in a lodge. Middle School boys rough it in rustic lodges. The High School students sleep in the conference center where each room has two queen size beds and a bathroom.

Price Changes for 2008:

We love our new site for camping at Quaker Ridge Camp. Quaker Ridge offers great activities such as horseback riding and a great pool. Unfortunately, they set the price. This year Quaker Ridge raised their prices by about 10%. In response, we have raised prices by $15 per camper.

Because the American Baptist Churches of the Rocky Mountains subsidize every camper, we also had to raise the price of campers who do not attend or participate in ABCRM churches. Those campers who do not regularly attend an American Baptist Church will have to pay an additional $30. (Our camp price is still a bargain compared to many other camps!)

We also changed the way we do white water rafting. Rafting is now an “elective” activity that is charged in addition to the camp fees.  The additional cost for white water rafting will be $75.
