FBC Laramie sent ten team members to  Crow Agency Montana for a week long work mission at Crow Community Baptist Church (CCBC). This American Baptist church is lead by Pastor Wayne Gentry and his family who help out throughout the week. Those members from Laramie that participated in the long drive and work were Mary M. Burman, Randy and Lorrie Lewis, Diana Kocornik and Eric Moorhouse and children Justin, Kevin, and Carlie, and Pastor Mary Beth Mankin and her husband Bill.
The church building needed a few touch ups, so the team spent their time working on construction projects and other issues that came up. Two shower rooms had sheetrock put up and the entryway to the church and parsonage received a painting. Outside the buildings tons of sand were spread on the volleyball court, a new basketball backboard was erected, and a preservative was painted on the new fence by the parsonage. Once the basketball  backboard was installed, the team gave the church two new basketballs and brought in a donated picnic table. Two of the team members also visited the home of an elderly church member and temporarily fixed a leak in her roof.
One evening, the team members joined with sev eral church members for a potluck picnic, using the new picnic table. A few children came for crafts and outdoor races. After the picnic, Eric Moorhouse (on guitar) and Bella Gentry, the pastor’s wife (on flute), lead the group in a wonderful sing-a-long. Another evening was reserved to go visit the Little Bighorn Battlefield Monument and to have delicious Indian tacos at a local restaurant.
The team enjoyed the camaraderie with the pastor of CCBC, his family, and with each other throughout the week. The mission trip was funded by a Garage Sale for Missions, by the FBC’s Mission Board,  and by individual donations including food for the team, sent by several church members. The week was a great experience for each one on the team.
